This 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo was purchased new by the sellers father from Hinsdale Motor Cars and remained in Illinois until being moved to California in 2000. It returned to Chicago in 2005 and was acquired by the seller shortly thereafter following his fathers passing. The car was driven cross country both times, first by the sellers father and then by the seller himself. It is finished in Grand Prix White over black partial leather and was optioned with color-matched Fuchs wheels. Power comes from a turbocharged 3.3L flat-six, which is mated to a G50 5-speed manual transaxle equipped with a limited-slip differential. Service records from the sellers ownership are included in the sale along with the original window sticker and a clean Carfax report, and this final-year 930 Turbo is now being offered with a clean Illinois title in the sellers name.
The Grand Prix White finish received a paint correction from a local shop in 2016, and some rock chips on the forward surfaces have been touched up. Note the integrated front fog lights and the electric sliding sunroof, both of which were standard features on this car.
The car was ordered with color-matched 16 Fuchs wheels, which are forged and measure 7 wide up front and 9 out back. The signature tea tray rear spoiler conceals the top-mount intercooler, and an area of corrosion is noted near where the windshield meets the body.
The interior is trimmed in black partial leather, and the original Reno radio has been replaced with a modern unit. Other standard features include air conditioning, heated mirrors, an 8-speaker sound system, and power seats.
The speedometer stopped working in April 2017 and was replaced in May 2017 at 51,476 miles. The seller notes that the car was driven minimally while the speedometer was inoperable. The odometer currently shows 52,600 miles, about 25k of which were added by the seller.
The turbocharged 3.3L flat-six produced 282 horsepower when new and sends power to the rear wheels through a G50 transaxle featuring a standard limited-slip differential. A hydraulic clutch was also equipped from the factory along with the 5-speed gearbox. A battery drain is noted when the car sits for longer periods.
A number of recent lift shots have been provided by the seller and can be seen in the gallery below.
The original window shows the options and colors, as well as an MSRP of $72,698. A copy of the original purchase agreement can be seen in the gallery, and service records from the sellers ownership are included in the sale.
The included Carfax shows no accidents or other issues in addition to new front brake pads and an alternator replacement in 2014 at 47k miles. The ownership history in Illinois and California is also confirmed along with mileage, including 10 updates going back to 2000.
