This 1987 Porsche 911 Turbo is finished in black over green/grey leather and was acquired by the seller in 2006. Power is from a matching-numbers turbocharged flat-six paired with a 4-speed manual transaxle and limited-slip differential. Modifications added in 2007 included 3.4-liter Mahle pistons and cylinders, a dual-plug crank-fire ignition system, and custom headers with heater boxes. A new clutch, ignition wires, and tires were installed in 2015, the tail lip was replaced in 2014, and the engine was rebuilt 400 miles ago in June 2018. This 930 shows 156k miles and is offered with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, service records dating to 2006, and a clear Minnesota title.
The exterior is finished in black (A1) and can be seen up close in the photo gallery below. Occasional stone chips are said to be present. The seller reports paintwork was conducted after a windshield replacement in 2010 due to chipping caused by removal of the old seal. The work reportedly required sanding, primer and paint blending at the cowl, and photos of the area can be seen in the gallery.
Forged 17 Fikse wheels were fitted with Sumitomo HTR Z tires in 2015, with an alignment carried out at the time. A new OEM rubber spoiler lip was installed in 2014, and a receipt for the part is included in the gallery below. Options include a power sunroof which can be seen in the open position in the gallery.
A video showing the doors being closed and a view of the new lip can be seen above.
The interior is trimmed in green/grey leather (LB) upholstery and appears unmodified. The factory Blaupunkt Reno stereo remains in place and is said to work, though the seller states the sound system is rarely used and the speakers may need replacement.
The odometer shows 156k miles, 60k of which have reportedly been added by the seller during weekly fair-weather drives. The car is said to have been stored from October through April under current ownership.
The turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six was rebuilt in June 2018 by Auto Edge in Mahtomedi, Minnesota and is paired with a 4-speed manual transaxle equipped with a limited-slip differential. Engine work included installation of new cams and rod bearings as well as sending out the cylinder heads for valve work and rocker replacement. Other new parts included the fuel pump, flywheel ring, starter, wastegate diaphragm, injectors, and spark plugs. The air conditioning system was also evacuated and recharged with R134a refrigerant.
A list of engine work can be seen in the gallery below, and the seller states that Auto Edge can be contacted at the number listed on the invoice. Receipts are also included for a fuel tank sender in June 2018, clutch replacement in 2015, and the 2007 engine build with upgraded pistons and cylinders, conversion to a dual-plug crank-fire ignition system, custom headers, and a K27S turbocharger. The seller states that with the modifications the engine produces over 400 horsepower at stock boost.
A video of a cold start can be seen above and here.
Engine stamping #68H00573 matches the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and transaxle #77H00871 can be seen in the gallery below along with photos of the undercarriage.
The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirms the powertrain numbers and options as equipped from the factory.
